THE TRAVEL OF PACIFIC HALIBUT

 In Larry's Blog

Monster halibut can be caught in many areas of the Gulf of Alaska… at different times of the year. Female halibut caught and tagged in the Bering Sea and released have been re-caught far down the panhandle of Alaska.

While escaping the cold Alaska winter in Florida, my mind often drifts to what’s happening in the oceans up North.  The halibut are on the move following their migratory route.  The roads are still icy between here and there but will soon thaw.  So the soft sirens of the North start to sing their song to me and other sportsmen and women planning their fishing adventures to Alaska this year.   Halibut, salmon, trout, bears, moose and caribou start to visit me in my thoughts…..it won’t be long now!
