The Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton is very close to my hometown of Stow, OH.  After high school football practice in August of ‘62, I drove with some buddies to witness the groundbreaking ceremonies for the new Hall of Fame.

Leaders in the community had petitioned the NFL for a Hall of Fame in Canton, the birthplace of professional football.  I’d heard some of my football idols would be there.

I especially hoped to meet Bronco Nagurski, a powerful throwback from the 30’s/40’s.  I did see him, Red Grange, Bobby Lane and others but it would be a few years later before I finally got to shake Bronco’s hand as a rookie for the Miami Dolphins.  He had hands like a catcher’s mitt with a ring size of 19 ½! The biggest ring displayed in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame museum has expanded greatly over the years.  And the new Hall of Fame Village hotel, player care center, national youth football complex and more are under construction now!

I hope you’ll sign up and join me as the Hall of Fame provides us with a private tour of some impressive exhibits and archived memorabilia.
