Larry Csonka’s Thoughts on AJ McCarron

Back up quarterback, AJ McCarron, received very little practice time with the first team receivers of the Cincinnati Bengals. Yet, when called on recently after Andy Dalton’s injury, he performed as if he’d been throwing to the #1’s since July! I can’t believe he wasn’t drafted until the 5th round in 2014. (Miami….where are you??)
AJ’s a man of devote faith, happily married and expecting his first child in 2016 (can it get any better?). He displayed leadership qualities while at Alabama and on the field recently during the last few weeks for Cincinnati. The missed snap and fumble against the Denver Broncos was certainly unfortunate for him and the Bengals. Otherwise, from what I’ve seen, he’s accurate and consistent and at 6’3, 220 lbs he can take a hit! He shows a lot of promise for a rookie.
The only thing I see wrong with this guy is he isn’t wearing a Dolphin logo on his helmet! (Anyone listening??)
